Educational Philosophy
My Philosophy of Teaching Statement
is progressivism. My philosophy is based on three points: embrace the kids to
be unique, motivate them academically, and guide them. I want the best for
children. I want them to succeed in life.
First of all, we should motivate
our students to develop their talents and to understand that everybody is
unique and special in their own way. In order to make them discover who they
are, they will need to let their creativity flow. Everybody has a different
perspective of the world.
Additionally, we should embrace
their talents and to help them to develop talents. They would never know what
their abilities are if they don’t try to do new things. Some kids are so talented but they just need a little push to
discover what they are capable of.
Moreover, we should motivate them
to do better in school; however, I think that the motivation should come from home too.
Parents have an important role in children’s education. If we are going to educate
them, we have to be supported by the parents. We have to complement each other
in order to make kids progress. I have seen children struggling in math and
thinking they are not smart enough so they would give up and accept getting Cs
or Ds. We have to tell them that they can do it. We have to help them to
understand the lessons by using different methods and they will progress little
by little. Everybody has different learning styles.
If we love children, we should
guide them to a good future. We have to make them better students and better
citizens. We have to teach them to respect each other. Regardless of their
ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex, and religion are, everybody deserves to be
respected. Something I want to make sure is that kids feel engaged with the
lessons by using different methods because everybody has different learning
styles. I would ask for quality, not quantity. It doesn’t matter how many
lessons you have gone over if the kids haven’t understood it well.
